Robot finds surprise in Mexico’s ancient Temple of Quetzalcoatl
NBC News: A diminutive robot helped researchers make a substantial discovery during preliminary tests conducted in a tunnel running under the Temple of Quetzalcoatl at the archaeological site of Teotihuacan, the team said Monday.
The team expected to find only one chamber in the last section of the tunnel — but instead, they found three, team leader Sergio Gomez said in a report published by the Mexican newspaper El Universal. The chambers are thought to have been used by Teotihuacan’s rulers roughly 2,000 years ago for royal ceremonies or burials, but they’re so choked with mud and rubble that they haven’t been explored in modern times.

Obit of the Day: La Matadora
Patricia McCormick was a college student from Texas who wanted to fight bulls. She was not the first woman to challenge bulls in the sport called an art by its supporters and barbaric by its critics - but she was likely the best.
During her 11-year career as a matadora Ms. McCormick killed 300 bulls, while she was gored six times. One goring was so brutal that a doctor told officials, “Take her into her own country to die. There is nothing more to be done.”
Ms. McCormick would remain a level below her male counterparts because she did not take part in the alternativa which would have made her an official matadora de toros. It was not by choice, she could not find a man who would sponsor her initiation. Sexism was rampant in the sport. The greatest bullfighter of her generation, Carlos Arruza, was quoted as saying, “Yes, she fights larger bulls than any other woman, and I understand she kills well….Her defect is that she is a woman.”
Still Ms. McCormick would enjoy success until ill health and financial problems caused her to retire and move to Los Angeles in 1962. She had hoped to turn her 1954 memoir, The Lady Bullfighter into a film but nothing came of it. She would become an art teacher at a school in Pasadena.
She eventually moved back to Texas where she passed away on March 26, 2013 at the age of 83.

Man’s Story, 1964
I have to find this. If not for the sadist Cuban revolutionaries then the story about Hitler’s sex castle. These stories must be told.
